Speak Up on Climate!

Climate Consultation Insta Post.png

This February we are thrilled to be facilitating the United Nations’ youth constituency’s (YOUNGO) first ever FREE youth consultation on climate change adaptation in Aotearoa!

The aim is to centre the voice of young people from across Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa in order to tap into youth’s existing knowledge and creative options for mitigation, as well as discussing the issues and solutions of the barriers to youth climate action — all big stuff!

Outcomes from our consultation will be joined with those happening around the world and collected by YOUNGO — the children and youth constituency to the United Nations on climate change — and will inform their position and advice given to the United Nations’ Global Commission on Adaptation’s (GCA) ‘Flagship Report on Adaptation’ to be presented at the UN Climate Summit later this year. Founded in 2018, the GCA aims to increase the political awareness of climate change adaptation.

In order to have the youth voice from Aotearoa loud and clear, we want you to come along and share your expertise and perspective.

So — Speak Up on Climate with of invigorating discussion, awesome kai and the chance to meet a whole lot of other young people passionate about safeguarding our future through climate change adaptation.

We are immensely grateful to our friends at the Ellen Melville Centre for supporting our mahi and allowing us to use their beautiful space.

Thank you also to YOUNGO for making this day possible.
