Applications open for UN climate change delegations to Bonn and Paris

Bonn

The moment we know you've all been waiting for!

Aotearoa Youth Leadership Institute is excited to announce that applications are now open for not one, but two delegations to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change negotiations in the second half of 2015.

The Institute will be sending delegations to session 2.11 of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action in Bonn, Germany, from 19-23 October, and to the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) in Paris, France, from 31 November - 11 December.  These delegations will give an amazing opportunity to witness some of the most significant international negotiations of the decade.

Bonn will aim to finalise the last details of a new global climate agreement to be signed in Paris. Delegates will have the unique opportunity to watch these tense negotiations progress, and will be able to discuss their observations with government negotiators and NGO representatives on the ground.

Our delegations will be led by Yong Ly and Benj Brooking, both alumni of the Institute's 2014 delegation to last year's climate conference in Lima.

A small delegation of New Zealand youth aged over 18 will be chosen to attend each conference.  Get your applications for Bonn and Paris in by 28 August!
