My experience over the last few weeks at UNCSW62 has been busy – busy in that meaningful, productive sense that one feels as an impetus pushing you further along, and to further auspices.
I think sometimes we forget that to get the most out of life you have to let other things go. There are many opportunities that only occur when you take time for yourself, that you come across when you’re taking your time. You have to judge and juggle, and make sure that you’re doing the right thing for yourself.
"New York is a city of… something. Something tangible, but inexplicable." It "is a semi-coordinated mess, a place that seems like it could only survive in theory, in movies, and in ideology, yet somehow it works. It has carved out a niche of its own and flourished in its capabilities.
Some of us convening in New York hold a broader hope: that considering the collective solutions for our oceans will encourage dialogue across the arbitrary lines that increasingly shape our world. Protecting our oceans is necessary for all our futures, but we cannot do this by retreating behind borders.
